Cybersecurity Lead - Embedded Weapons Systems

Lead cybersecurity implementation across the full lifecycle of advanced weapon systems (guided munitions, missiles, etc.). Ensure embedded systems meet stringent DoD cybersecurity requirements from design through production and fielding.

Responsibilities

1. DoD Cybersecurity Implementation

• Decompose DoD cybersecurity mandates (RMF, NIST 800-series) into actionable technical requirements for embedded weapon systems
• Develop secure-by-design architectures for:
  • Secure boot & firmware updates
  • Cryptographic hardware/software integrity
  • Real-time OS hardening
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments specific to intelligent armament systems

2. Lifecycle Security Leadership

• Oversee cybersecurity in all phases:
  • Requirements → Design → HW/SW development → Integration → V&V testing → Fielding
• Lead cyber test activities (CVAs, adversarial assessments, tabletop exercises)
• Author risk mitigation plans and CONOPS for weapon system deployments

3. Compliance & Standards Enforcement

• Implement DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST 800-171, CNSSI 1253, and other DoD-specific standards
• Prepare systems for Major Engineering Reviews (PDR/CDR) and RMF accreditation
